Actions we are taking regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic

At Liberty Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning, the health and safety of our customers, employees, and their families has always been our top priority. During these uncertain times, we understand the growing concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, and we want to assure you that we are doing everything possible to maintain a safe and healthy environment while continuing to serve your essential plumbing, heating, and cooling needs.

We Are Open

Our Commitment to Your Safety

We understand that everyone is adjusting to a new normal, and many of us are spending more time at home. With the need for social distancing, people are relying on their home’s plumbing and HVAC systems more than ever. Clean water, proper plumbing, and indoor air quality are essential for maintaining comfort, health, and safety during this time. Recognizing our role as second responders, we take this responsibility seriously and are dedicated to ensuring both your safety and the safety of our technicians when visiting your home.

Here are the enhanced safety measures we’ve implemented to protect our customers, technicians, and the community at large:

1. Contactless Service to Minimize Physical Contact

As we continue to monitor COVID-19, we’ve adjusted our interactions to limit physical contact. Our technicians are instructed to avoid handshakes and to maintain a distance of six feet from homeowners during service calls, as recommended by the CDC. Instead, you’ll be greeted with a friendly smile, but don’t be surprised if it’s from a distance!

2. Health Screening for Technicians and Clients

To ensure that we’re doing everything we can to minimize the risk of spreading the virus, we’ve put strict guidelines in place for our team. Any employee who exhibits symptoms of illness or has a sick household member is instructed to stay home until they are symptom-free. In turn, we ask our clients to inform us if anyone in the household is sick or has been exposed to COVID-19 prior to their appointment. This helps protect both our team and your family.

We also want to emphasize that during this time, cancellation fees are waived. If you need to reschedule due to illness or exposure to COVID-19, we completely understand.

3. Sanitization and Disinfection Protocols

To further protect your household, our technicians are equipped with hand sanitizers, sanitizing wipes, and disinfectants to use on surfaces and tools before and after appointments. Our trucks and equipment are also regularly sanitized throughout the day. This way, we reduce the risk of virus transmission during service calls.

In addition, we encourage homeowners to help with this process by wiping down any surfaces where our technicians will be working before we arrive. This extra step helps everyone feel more comfortable during the service.

4. Protective Gear for Technicians

While in your home, our technicians will wear fresh gloves and shoe covers. Gloves are changed between appointments to prevent cross-contamination. Masks are available upon request. Although the CDC does not recommend masks for healthy individuals, we understand that some clients may feel more comfortable if our technicians wear them during their visit. Please feel free to ask, and we’ll happily accommodate.

We are mindful of the national shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) and are making every effort to use these resources responsibly. We want to ensure that first responders and medical professionals have the PPE they need, so we are using masks selectively when appropriate.

5. Open Communication for Safe Service

Your comfort and trust are important to us. If you have any concerns about our safety procedures or require specific accommodations during your appointment, let us know. We are committed to working with you to ensure you feel safe and secure when we visit your home. Communication is key, so we encourage you to ask questions and let us know if there are additional precautions you’d like us to take.

Keeping Your Plumbing and HVAC Systems Running Smoothly During the Pandemic

During this challenging time, your home’s plumbing, heating, and air conditioning systems may be working overtime. With everyone spending more time indoors, we know how crucial it is to keep these systems running smoothly. Routine maintenance can help prevent costly breakdowns and keep your home comfortable, especially when it comes to indoor air quality and clean water access.

Here are a few things you can do to keep your systems in tip-top shape:

Plumbing Tips:

  • Avoid flushing non-flushable items: With more people at home, your plumbing system might experience extra strain. Make sure you’re only flushing toilet paper, and avoid putting items like wipes or paper towels down the drain, as they can cause clogs.
  • Be mindful of what goes down the garbage disposal: To prevent your disposal from getting jammed, avoid putting items like coffee grounds, grease, and fibrous foods (like celery or banana peels) down the drain.
  • Monitor water pressure: If you notice a sudden drop in water pressure, it could be a sign of a clog or another issue in your plumbing system. Addressing the problem early can help prevent larger, more expensive repairs.

HVAC Tips:

  • Change your air filters regularly: A clean filter helps your HVAC system run more efficiently and improves indoor air quality. We recommend changing your filters every one to three months, depending on usage.
  • Open windows when possible: Fresh air is a simple way to improve ventilation in your home. If weather permits, open your windows for a few hours each day to increase airflow.
  • Schedule an AC tune-up: With summer on the horizon, now is a great time to make sure your air conditioning system is ready for the heat. Regular maintenance can extend the life of your unit and prevent unexpected breakdowns during the hottest months.
